To receive any foreign contribution or donation, an NGO must obtain FCRA Registration from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). This license ensures that foreign funds are utilized for their intended social, educational, or religious purposes without compromising national security.
Depending on the age and track record of your organization, you can apply for one of two types of permissions:
For NGOs active for at least 3 years. It is valid for 5 years and allows for continuous foreign funding within the registered scope.
For newly registered NGOs. It is project-specific and allows the organization to receive a specific amount from a specific donor.
The MHA follows strict guidelines for granting FCRA certificates. Your NGO must meet the following:
We ensure your NITI Aayog Darpan ID is active and your past 3 years' audit reports are MHA-compliant.
Professional drafting of the application to avoid rejections based on "vague objectives" or "incomplete records."
Guidance during the mandatory field inquiry by local authorities and the Intelligence Bureau.
